ARMOUR SPECIFICATIONS FOR CIT

The Automobile armouring process, of all kinds, is divided into two main areas:

Opaque Armour

Following international requirements, the materials used, ballistic steel, blast steel are subject to technical and ballistics studies, before they are incorporated to vehicles.

In this area the armour is applied, depending on the CEN LEVEL B6 / B4, on:

  • The front and back panels’ retainers from floor to roof and crown.
  • Reinforcements of car body, doors, sides, splash shields, hood, roof; and the whole set in general.
  • Driver cabin and surveillance compartment floor shall be covered with 400 BHN blast steel. Rear vault floor shall be covered with mild steel 3.7 mm.
  • The battery protection box with ballistic Steel.
  • The fuel tank protection with ballistic Steel.
  • Engine control unit protection with ballistic Steel.
  • The radiator protection with ballistic Steel.
  • Level Protection: CEN 1063 / 1522 BR6 / FB6 (Guards Areas) and CEN B4 (Security Vault).
  • Request of armouring: B6 / B4vehicle armoring in full compliance within CEN 1063 / 1522 BR6 and blast protection level 2 X DM51.

Armour Configuration:

WINDOWS GLASS
  • Windshield: B6 Level glass. Thick: 40 mm.
  • Left front door: B6 Level glass. Thick: 40 mm.
  • Left front door: B6 Level glass. Thick: 40 mm.
  • Main door: B6 Level glass. Thick: 40 mm.
  • Vault door: B6 Level glass. Thick: 40 mm.
DRIVER COMPARTMENT
  • Cabin Structure: Ballistic Steel 6.5 mm 500 BHN
  • Doors covers:: Ballistic Steel 6.5 mm 500 BHN
  • Roof: Ballistic Steel 6.5 mm 500 BHN
  • Floor: Blast steel 4.0 mm 400 BHN
SURVEILLANCE COMPARTMENT
  • Main Structure: Ballistic Steel 6.5 mm 500 BHN
  • Doors:: Ballistic Steel 6.5 mm 500 BHN
  • Roof: Ballistic Steel 6.5 mm 500 BHN
  • Floor: Blast steel 4.0 mm 400 BHN
SECURITY VAULT
  • Structure: Ballistic Steel 4.5 mm
  • Roof: Ballistic Steel 4.5 mm
  • Floor: Mild Steel 3.7 mm
  • Fuel tank: Sides Ballistic Steel 6.5 mm, blast steel 4,0 mm 400 BHN
  • Battery box: Ballistic Steel 6.5mm.

CAB OPAQUE PANELS / AREAS

All opaque areas of the vehicle including the roof are protected against soft core projectiles fired with the following NATO 7.62x51mm M80 Ball (+/-10 m/s) and all lesser weapons Magnum 44, Uzi, Mini-Uzi, 9mm, 38 Special, 32 Special, 7.65mm at 90º and 45º (to roof), according B6 / B4 Standard.

The armouring plates shall be integrated into the core vehicle to provide the highest level of vehicle body structure integrity in the event of accident.

Armouring design shall be minimized with number of panels; maximize panel size.

GLASS ÁREAS:

All transparent areas are multilayer and polycarbonate coated protect against projectiles fired with the following NATO 7.62x51mm M80 Ball (+/-10 m/s) and all lesser weapons at 90º and 45º (to roof) regulations, under the international regulation NIJ for B6 armour level.

PAINTING AND CORROSION PROTECTION:

On completion of modification the cab area of the vehicle would undergo an extensive cleaning prior to painting to match the original finish.
